HIV Test at Home in Dubai.

HIV Test Dubai 4th-Generation Duo p24 Antigen + Antibody Confidential & Private

A DHA-licensed nurse comes to your home, hotel, or office across Dubai to draw a small blood sample for a 4th-generation HIV test (p24 antigen plus HIV-1/2 antibodies). Processed at DHA-approved laboratories with same-day results for the standard screen, handled with full confidentiality, and reviewed by a doctor who explains what your result means. No fasting required.

Your result is handled with complete discretion — and read by a doctor, not just emailed to you. An HIV screen looks for infection markers in your blood; a reactive result is a signal to confirm, not a final diagnosis, so the doctor arranges the confirmatory test. A very recent exposure may still be inside the window period and not show yet. And if a possible high-risk exposure was within the last 72 hours, tell us straight away — that can be time-critical.

Understanding the Test

What Is an HIV Test?

An HIV test is a blood test that looks for signs of the human immunodeficiency virus. A modern 4th-generation test checks for both the p24 antigen — part of the virus itself — and the HIV-1/2 antibodies your immune system makes in response, so it can detect infection earlier than an antibody-only test.

4th-Gen HIV,
One Draw

A Confidential, Same-Day Screen

One small blood sample runs a 4th-generation HIV screen. The standard result comes back the same day, handled with full confidentiality, read by a doctor, and no fasting needed.

An HIV test looks for the virus that affects the immune system — and tells you, discreetly, whether you carry a current infection, so you can act on it early.

The screen looks for two kinds of clue. The p24 antigen — a protein from the virus itself — appears within a couple of weeks of infection, before antibodies do. HIV-1/2 antibodies — the proteins your immune system makes in response — appear a little later. A 4th-generation test checks for both, which is why it detects infection earlier than an antibody-only test.

HIV-1 and HIV-2 are the two types the test covers. HIV gradually weakens the immune system if left untreated, but modern treatment is highly effective — which is exactly why knowing your status early, and privately, matters so much. A screen simply tells you where you stand, so you can act on it with the right support.

Timing matters, and one screen is not always the whole story. Straight after a possible exposure the virus may not be detectable yet — a window period — so a very recent risk can need a repeat test after about four to six weeks. A reactive (positive) screen is a signal to confirm with a further test, not a final diagnosis. And if a possible high-risk exposure was within the last 72 hours, that is time-critical — tell us straight away rather than waiting on a test.

One Screen · Many Reasons

What an HIV Test Is Used For

The same blood screen looks for HIV infection. What changes is why it is ordered. These are the reasons people most often book one, confidentially, at home in Dubai.

After a Possible Exposure

Unprotected sex, a needlestick, shared needles

Unprotected sex, a condom that failed, a needlestick, or shared needles can all carry an HIV risk. Screening gives you a clear, private answer — and if the exposure was within the last 72 hours, tell us immediately, because PEP (preventive medication) is time-critical and started urgently, not after a home test.

Flu-Like Symptoms After a Risk

Fever, sore throat, rash, swollen glands

A few weeks after infection some people get a short flu-like illness — fever, sore throat, a rash, swollen glands or tiredness. These symptoms are common and non-specific, but after a possible exposure a confidential screen is a sensible way to check whether HIV is part of the picture.

Routine & Peace-of-Mind Screening

Never tested, a new relationship, a clean baseline

HIV can be silent for years, so many people simply want to know where they stand. A one-off confidential screen gives you a clear baseline — whether you have never been tested, are starting a new relationship, or just want peace of mind.

Pre-Marital, Travel or Personal Records

Pre-marital, travel, personal records

Some people need an HIV result for a pre-marital check, travel, or their own records. We collect at home and process at a DHA-approved laboratory. Note that the official UAE residency-visa medical is done through government-designated centres — tell us your purpose and we will confirm whether a private test fits or point you the right way.

Before or During Pregnancy

Standard antenatal screening

HIV screening is a standard part of pregnancy care, because knowing a mother's status early allows treatment that dramatically lowers the chance of passing HIV to the baby. We can collect the sample at home so expecting mothers can screen conveniently and privately, with the result explained by a doctor.

A Partner's Result, or Testing Together

Partner diagnosed, or testing as a couple

If a partner has tested positive, or you simply want to test together before a new relationship, a confidential screen tells you where you each stand. The doctor explains the result and, where relevant, advises on prevention such as PEP or PrEP and the right next steps.

A reactive (positive) HIV screen is a signal to confirm, not a final diagnosis. Many results are non-reactive and reassuring; a reactive one is followed up with a confirmatory test (such as a Western blot or a viral-load PCR) before anything is concluded. A very recent exposure can still be inside a window period, where a repeat test is needed — and if a possible high-risk exposure was within the last 72 hours, PEP is time-critical, so seek care urgently rather than waiting for a test. Every MedCall HIV result is confidential and read by a doctor who explains what it means and what comes next — never sent to you as a bare lab sheet.

How Your HIV Test Works at Home in Dubai

From first message to a doctor-reviewed result — four steps, one confidential home visit, no clinic queue. A small blood draw, the standard test measured the same day, and the result explained privately by a doctor.

Step 01

Tell Us Why You Are Testing

Call +971 55 850 2472 or message us in complete confidence. The reason you are testing — a possible exposure, symptoms, a pre-marital check, or peace of mind — decides which test to run, from the qualitative HIV screen to the 4th-generation Duo (p24 antigen plus antibody).

Booking confirmed in under 10 minutes

Step 02

A Simple, Confidential Blood Draw — and Two Things to Mention

No fasting needed — our nurse takes a small blood sample at home with a sterile single-use kit, discreetly. Two things help: mention any recent exposure and roughly when, since a very recent risk can fall inside the window period — and if a possible high-risk exposure was within the last 72 hours, say so immediately, because PEP (preventive medication) is time-critical and started urgently, not after a home test.

Small blood draw · evening & weekend slots

Step 03

Processed at a DHA-Approved Lab

Your sample is processed at a DHA-approved laboratory. The standard 4th-generation screen comes back the same day, while any confirmatory test takes longer (a Western blot or a viral-load PCR around a week). We confirm the timing upfront.

Step 04

Confidential Result & Doctor Review

Your private digital report shows the result as reactive or non-reactive, and a doctor explains what it means — whether it is reassuring, whether a reactive result needs a confirmatory test, and exactly what to do next.

Symptoms · When an HIV Test Helps

Could These Signs Point to HIV?

Early HIV can feel like a short flu — fever, sore throat, swollen glands — a few weeks after exposure, and many infections stay silent for years. A simple, confidential blood screen is how you find out. These are the signs where that answer is worth having.

Many people with HIV feel completely well for years. Feeling fine does not rule it out, and early symptoms, when they appear, are common and non-specific. A screen does not diagnose on its own; it gives a doctor a clear answer, read against your history — and after a possible exposure, timing matters.

Early / acute phase

Fever & Night Sweats

A fever, often with drenching night sweats, is one of the most common signs of early HIV — usually a couple of weeks after exposure. It is easy to mistake for a passing bug, which is why, after a possible risk, a confidential screen helps settle it.

Seroconversion

Sore Throat & Swollen Glands

A sore throat with swollen lymph glands in the neck, armpits or groin is a classic early sign. On its own it is non-specific, but following a possible exposure it is a sensible reason to screen.

A common early sign

A Flat, Blotchy Rash

A flat, blotchy rash — often on the chest or trunk — can appear in the first few weeks of infection. It usually fades on its own, so it is easy to overlook; a screen checks whether HIV is behind it.

Feeling drained

Body Aches & Persistent Fatigue

Muscle and joint aches, headaches, and tiredness that will not lift are among the most common early signs. They are easy to dismiss as overwork — which is exactly why a simple screen helps after a risk.

Silent infection

Often No Symptoms at All

HIV can quietly affect the body for years with no symptoms at all. That silence is the strongest reason to screen if you have any risk factor — a clear result is the only way to know for sure.

Mucosal signs

Mouth Ulcers or Recurring Thrush

Mouth ulcers, or oral thrush that keeps coming back, can accompany early or later HIV. Read alongside other symptoms and any exposure, they are a reasonable reason to check, with timing advised by the doctor.

Not Sure Whether an HIV Test Is the Right Step?

Tell our coordinator, in confidence, what has been happening and for how long. If a screen is the sensible next step we will arrange it discreetly — and if what you describe needs urgent care, such as PEP after a recent exposure, we will tell you that instead.

The Home Visit

A DHA Nurse Comes to You

No clinic, no waiting room, no awkward front desk. A licensed nurse arrives at your home, hotel or office at a time that suits you, takes a small blood sample in minutes, and the sample is on its way to the lab the same day — all completely private.

The whole visit is quick, discreet and painless — and the standard HIV screen is back the same day.

A DHA-licensed nurse brings everything needed and draws a small blood sample from your arm with a sterile, single-use kit. Most visits take around ten minutes from knock to done, and you never have to leave home — there is no clinic waiting room and no one else to explain yourself to.

The timing is straightforward. The sample reaches a DHA-approved laboratory the same day, and the standard 4th-generation screen is reported the same day too. A confirmatory test, such as a Western blot or a viral-load PCR, naturally takes a little longer, and we tell you the timing upfront.

The one thing we never rush is what the result means. Your result is confidential and read by a doctor — a reactive result is confirmed rather than assumed, and you are told clearly what it means and what, if anything, comes next. Never a bare figure on a screen.

A Nurse at Your Door

One short, private visit at home — a small blood draw, then a confidential same-day result, reviewed by a doctor.

Why It Matters

Why an HIV Test Is Worth Doing

It is a small, confidential test — but HIV can sit silently for years while it affects the immune system. Here is what checking actually gives you.

Catch a Silent Infection Early

HIV often causes no symptoms for years. A screen can find an infection while it is still silent, when starting treatment early does the most to protect your health, rather than after the immune system has been affected.

Open the Door to Treatment

A clear result is the first step to care. HIV treatment today is highly effective — people on treatment can live long, healthy lives and reach an undetectable viral load — but only once it is found. The doctor guides what comes next.

Protect the People Around You

HIV passes through blood and certain body fluids. Knowing your status lets you take steps to avoid passing it on — and effective treatment that reaches an undetectable level means the virus cannot be passed to a partner. Partners can also be advised on prevention such as PrEP.

Clear Your Status, for Peace of Mind

If a possible exposure or simple uncertainty is on your mind, a confidential screen settles it. Most results are reassuring — and where one is not, you have found out early and have a clear next step rather than a worry left unchecked.

Pre-Marital, Travel or Personal Records

Some people need an HIV result for a pre-marital check, travel or their own records. We collect at home and process at a DHA-approved laboratory. The official UAE residency-visa medical runs through government-designated centres — tell us your purpose and we confirm whether a private test fits.

Read in Context, Not Just Emailed

A reactive result on its own can frighten you before it is even confirmed. Our doctor confirms and explains your result privately — what it means, whether a further test is needed, and exactly what to do next.

Our Promise: An Honest, Confidential Answer

An HIV screen is worth doing for genuine peace of mind or a real risk — and we handle it discreetly from start to finish. A reactive result is always confirmed, never assumed, and every result is explained privately by a doctor who tells you what it means and what comes next. We would rather give you a clear, honest answer than leave you to worry over a figure on a screen.

Choosing the Right Test · An Honest Comparison

4th-Gen Duo, Antibody Screen or Confirmatory Test?

Three different ways to test for HIV, often confused for one another. A 4th-generation Duo, a basic antibody screen and a confirmatory or PCR test answer different questions — and picking the wrong one either tells you too little or costs far more than you need.

We offer all three, so we have no reason to steer you. The right choice depends on what you need — the earliest reliable screen, the lowest-cost antibody check, or a confirmatory test after a reactive result — and for most people testing for the first time, the 4th-generation Duo is exactly right.

This Test · AED 199

The 4th-Generation Duo

p24 antigen + HIV-1/2 antibodies, one draw

  • Detects both — the p24 antigen and HIV-1/2 antibodies in one test.
  • Detects earlier than antibody-only, because the p24 antigen appears sooner.
  • Same-day result, confidential, read by a doctor.
  • The sensible default for a first screen or after a possible exposure, once past the window.
  • A reactive result still needs a confirmatory test — it is a screen, not a final diagnosis.
Antibody Screen · From AED 149

A Basic Antibody Screen

HIV antibodies only

  • Lowest cost when you only need a basic antibody check.
  • Same-day result.
  • Antibody-only, so its window period is a little longer than the Duo’s.
  • Does not detect the p24 antigen, so a very recent infection can be missed for longer.
  • Under AED 299, a AED 49 collection applies.
A Different Test

Confirmatory / RNA PCR

Confirming a result, or very early detection

  • Confirms a reactive screen — a Western blot or HIV RNA PCR gives certainty.
  • RNA PCR can detect infection very early, before antibodies appear.
  • Arranged and explained by the doctor when it is genuinely needed.
  • Not a first-line screen — most people do not need it to start.
  • Higher cost and about a week’s turnaround — ask us what fits.

Which One Actually Suits You

Four situations and the honest answer for each — so you book the test that fits your question, not the biggest one on the list.

You want the earliest reliable screen The 4th-generation Duo. p24 antigen and antibodies, read in context.
You want the lowest-cost basic check A basic antibody screen. Lower cost, one question.
Your screen came back reactive A confirmatory test — a Western blot or PCR — which the doctor arranges.
You had a possible exposure or symptoms The 4th-gen Duo, timing advised — and a very recent, high-risk exposure means urgent PEP, not a home test.

Not sure which you need? Tell us why you are testing.

Thirty seconds on the phone, in confidence, is enough to get this right. We would rather book you a basic AED 149 antibody screen than a test you do not need — and if a possible exposure was in the last 72 hours, we will point you to urgent PEP care instead.

01

DHA-Approved Labs

02

Confidential, and Explained

This is the real difference. Your result is private and read by a doctor — a reactive result is confirmed, not assumed — rather than a bare lab sheet emailed to you to worry over alone.

Reading Your Result

What Your HIV Result Means

Your report shows your result as reactive or non-reactive. That is the easy part. The part that matters — what a reactive result actually means for you, and what comes next — is where the confidential doctor review comes in.

Read in
Context

A Result and Its Meaning

Your result comes back reactive or non-reactive — and with a doctor's read on what it means for you, in complete confidence.

Your result is reported as reactive or non-reactive against the laboratory's reference.

The label tells you whether HIV was detected — but not, on its own, the whole story. A reactive result needs confirming before anything is concluded, and a non-reactive result can still sit inside a window period after a very recent exposure. That is why the label is a starting point, not a verdict.

N-R Non-ReactiveNo HIV detected — reassuring. After a very recent possible exposure, a repeat once the window period has passed may still be advised.
R ReactiveA reactive screen — a signal to confirm, not a final diagnosis. The doctor arranges the confirmatory test (a Western blot or RNA PCR) and explains what it means.
Ind IndeterminateA grey-zone result that is neither clearly reactive nor non-reactive — usually repeated or confirmed to be sure.

This is exactly why we do not just email you a lab sheet. Our doctor reads your result privately — explaining reactive against non-reactive, arranging any confirmatory test, advising whether a recent exposure means repeating after the window period, and telling you plainly what to do next.

A reactive result is not a final diagnosis. It is confirmed before anything is concluded, and a non-reactive result does not rule out a very recent exposure. The meaning comes from a doctor reading it with you, confidentially — included, at no extra cost, with every HIV test.

HIV Test at Home in Dubai — Frequently Asked Questions

Some of these come from people deciding whether to book. Just as many come from people with a possible exposure on their mind, or a result in hand, trying to work out what it means. Both are answered here, honestly and in confidence.

Can’t find your question? Call us free on +971 55 850 2472

It checks for infection with HIV, the human immunodeficiency virus. A modern 4th-generation test looks for two things: the p24 antigen, which is part of the virus itself, and the HIV-1/2 antibodies your body makes in response.

Because it detects the antigen as well as antibodies, a 4th-generation test can pick up infection earlier than an antibody-only screen. Tell us your reason for testing and we will confirm which test suits you.

Book an HIV test at home

A basic HIV antibody screen is AED 149, and the recommended 4th-generation Duo (p24 antigen plus antibodies) is AED 199. Both are under AED 299, so a AED 49 home collection applies — AED 198 and AED 248 all-in.

We show every figure openly, so the price you are quoted is the price you pay. It includes the nurse visit, DHA-approved laboratory testing and a doctor's review. Any confirmatory test, such as a Western blot or RNA PCR, is doctor-guided and quoted before booking.

Get a price confirmation now

The standard 4th-generation screen is typically ready the same day.

A confirmatory test after a reactive screen, such as a Western blot or an HIV RNA PCR, takes longer — usually about a week — because of how it is processed. We tell you the expected turnaround for whatever you book before anyone comes out.

Yes. HIV testing is handled discreetly from your first message to your result. The nurse visits at a time and place that suits you, your sample is labelled to protect your privacy, and your result is shared with you and the reviewing doctor.

We treat your test with care and do not discuss it with anyone else. If privacy is your main concern, that is exactly how this service is built.

Message us privately

No fasting is needed for an HIV test, and no referral is required. It is a small blood draw, so there is nothing special to prepare on your side.

One thing helps: mention the timing of any recent possible exposure, since a very recent exposure can affect what a result shows, and a high-risk exposure in the last few days may need urgent attention rather than a home test.

A reactive result is a signal to confirm, not a final diagnosis. It means the screen detected something and the next step is a confirmatory test to be certain, which the doctor arranges and explains.

Modern HIV treatment is highly effective, and knowing early is what makes it work. The doctor talks you through what a reactive result means and exactly what to do next, privately.

It can, early on. Every HIV test has a window period — the time between exposure and when a test can reliably detect infection. A 4th-generation test is generally reliable from about four to six weeks.

A non-reactive result soon after a possible exposure is reassuring but does not completely rule it out, so the doctor may recommend repeating the test later. Tell us the timing and we will advise on the right test and when to take it.

Ask about exposure timing

If a possible high-risk exposure was within the last 72 hours, do not wait for a home test. PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis) can greatly reduce the chance of infection, but it is time-critical and must be started as soon as possible.

Go straight to a hospital emergency department or a sexual health clinic and ask about PEP today. Tell us your situation and we will point you to urgent care rather than simply booking a test.

If it was in the last 72 hours, call now

For most people the 4th-generation Duo is the better choice, because it detects the p24 antigen as well as antibodies and so picks up infection earlier.

A basic antibody screen is a lower-cost option once you are well past any window period. Tell us why you are testing and we will recommend the test that honestly fits your situation, not the most expensive one.

Not sure which? Ask us

No referral is needed, and a doctor review is part of the service. You can book directly by calling or messaging us.

The doctor reads your result, confirms a reactive screen if needed, and explains in plain terms what it means and what to do next — rather than leaving you with a bare lab sheet.

Yes. The sample is the same and the lab is the same. Our DHA-licensed nurses draw your blood using sterile technique into the correct sealed tubes, and it is transported to a DHA-approved laboratory under proper conditions.

It is measured on the same analysers a clinic uses. The only difference is that the draw happens at home instead of in a waiting room. Done properly, a home HIV test is as reliable as one taken in a clinic.

Call +971 55 850 2472 or message us on WhatsApp. Tell us where you are, when suits you, and the timing of any recent exposure.

Most bookings are confirmed in under ten minutes, and there is no booking form to fill in. Same-day appointments are available across Dubai.

A Possible Exposure, a New Relationship, or Just Peace of Mind? Sample Collected at Home. Confidential. Doctor-Reviewed.

A possible exposure, a new relationship, or simply peace of mind can all be a reason to check for HIV. One call is all it takes. A nurse collects a small blood sample at home, discreetly, your DHA-approved lab runs a 4th-generation screen — typically back the same day — and our doctor reads the result, confirming a reactive result rather than treating it as a final diagnosis. No fasting, complete confidentiality, and a clear answer you actually understand.
